Hello there folks. It’s nice to be back. So how have things been in the geek world? Sorry that this page hasn’t been up to par the past couple of weeks. I really need your input for the page.
Anything will work. I have a few people who contribute regularly but I need to hear from more of you out there. I know that you’re out there too. I will make a deal with you guys then. If one person will send in something I will drop it. I just want to know that you guys are reading and supporting the page. If not then we may see it come to an end.
Here is another suggestion – fan art. Send me your artwork to be featured in Geek Nation. I would love to see some art from you guys. You could draw your favorite video game character, movie character, superhero, and whatever you geek out about (as long as it’s tasteful – sorry those are the rules). For the Wolverine edition I drew a few pictures of Wolverine. So come on my fellow geeks send in your art and I’ll be sure to get on this very page. At least I will try my very best anyway.
On to other matters. Did anyone happen to see “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”? I have seen it twice. I missed the first 30 minutes of the opening night showing which resulted in me going back for a second viewing. I have to be honest with you guys, and I know some of you may not like what I have to say about it.
EH! That’s my thought on the film. There was too much uneeded and uncalled for humor. The character stereotyping was ridiculous and well it was overall kind of sad. Sure Megan Fox was still hot, and the robots looked cool, but the humor took away from a lot of it. The battles were huge but we only get to see a little bit of it. By that I mean the camera only catches a little bit of each robot and it is up to you to discern which is which. With so many on screen at once it does get hard to tell sometimes who is hitting who.
The film could have a been cut back a lot and had a smaller running time. Michael Bay apparently aimed for the younger crowd with this one. Not too young though, and parents be very wary of this film. There’s a lot of course language and dirty minded humor in the film. Overall it was okay, but that’s about it. I just rewatched the first film again and I enjoyed it 10 times more than the second. The first one had a little magic to it like the “Indiana Jones” or “Star Wars” films did when we were kids. “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” will be another film to join the ranks as a film where the sequel is worse than the first one. I know some of you think I may be wrong but that’s just my opinion if yours differs just let me know. Send your comments to geeknation@ardmoreite.com.
