Ardmore, OK —

Auditions for 2008-09 Broadway Kids will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Brass Ring Center for the Performing Arts in the Williams Vaughan Theatre, 120 A S. NE.

All students must have a song prepared to sing with an accompaniment track. Students will be judged on vocal ability, poise and stage presence. Currently, there are four Broadway Kids groups and students range in age from 6 to 18. This audition is for replacements in the existing groups.

Broadway Kids classes meet one time each week for one hour in preparation for their final concert, Kids For Kids. Each group learns a variety of Broadway show tunes that are staged or choreographed. All the songs selected are age appropriate for their respective groups.  There is a monthly tuition fee, enrollment and costume fee and a fee for the Broadway Kids uniform.

Each year a local charity is chosen to benefit from Kids For Kids. The Broadway Kids completed this season’s Kids For Kids program last weekend and helped The Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma raise almost $11,000.
