Greek mythology is parodied and modernized in the Ardmore High School drama team’s production of  “The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza.”

The show, a short comedy by Don Zolidis, tells all the Greek mythology an audience needs to know in 30 minutes — the script says so.

Much is actually covered, from the fall of the Titans to the Illiad. Mixed into the ancient tales is Pandora’s box releasing migraines and clothes from the ’70s, the Argonauts as an ancient A-Team and Orpheus as the first-ever emo kid.

“It’s good combination of fun and learning,” Dakota Wheatley said.

Showtimes are 7 tonight and Saturday. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students.

In addition to the evening performances, the play was performed during the school day Thursday for students to watch.

“It’s very exhausting with 11 performances in three days, but when you work that hard with people for so long, it showcases what you’ve done as a group,” senior Mike Neiger said.

Money raised through the performances will go towards the drama team’s expenses as they look to improve upon their third-place finish at state.

“It’s a fun night with dessert and an opportunity to meet the drama team,” director Lora Brooks said.
