The Goddard Center Summer Art Experience 2008 is titled “Larger than Life: A Mosaic of Art Elements.”
Session I is scheduled from July 7 to 11, with Session II from July 14 to 18.
This year’s theme will explore art elements such as line, shape, value, texture and color. These elements will be examined using a variety of art media, as well as through gallery talks, storytelling and dance. Instructors will present art projects influenced by art historical figures such as the portraits of Chuck Close, the soup cans of Andy Warhol and the soft sculptures of Claes Oldenburg, creating imagery that is larger in scale than the original.
Children can attend one or both sessions. Each session will include different activities. Materials are included.
The schedule is as follows:
Ages 5-6 — 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
$100 for one week or $175 for both weeks
Ages 7-8 — 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
$125 for 1 week or $200 for both weeks
Ages 9 and older — 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
