The Moore Shockers scored 10 runs in the seventh inning of a nightcap to all but make sure the Southern Financial Group Ardmore Cardinals didn’t pick up a win Monday night.

Moore came back from a 4-3 deficit with the big inning and won 13-7 to sweep the pair of American Legion games. Moore won the first game 5-1.

Ardmore (8-12) had a 3-1 lead after the first inning. Reed Downing put the Cardinals on the board with a three-run homer.

The Shockers scored a run in each of the first three innings, but the Cardinals went back in front, 4-3, when Curtis Smith scored on a double by Dylan Morales.

After Moore’s big run, Ardmore sliced the deficit with two runs on a Josiah Custar double and a Morales run on an error.

Downing (0-1) worked the fifth through seventh innings on the mound and took the loss.

In the first game, Moore scored three in the seventh to set the final margin. Cody Sewell scored on a Paul Chestnut single to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead, but Moore struck back with solo home runs by Taylor Daniels in the third and sixth innings off Ryan Gibson (0-1).
Gibson struck out six in six innings.

Ardmore will play this weekend in a tournament at Burkburnett, Texas, facing the Dallas Reds and Burkburnett Black Sox on Friday and Fort Worth Monarchs and Oklahoma Angels on Saturday.
