I did it. I should have known it would happen, but I did it anyway. What was it that I did? I bragged about not having any problems with my Playstation 3 for the past two years. Well guess what. The same day that I had written the article my PS3 died on me. I’m not kidding either. I jinxed myself big time.
I was in the middle of playing Call of Duty: World at War online. I was having a good round going when it just quit. Sadness, anger, and a little joy were all experienced Saturday, May 30th at 1:15 in the morning.
Now I have a serious problem to contend with. What should I do? I don’t have the money to just up and buy a new one. It will cost $150 to send the broken one to Sony, and then they will just send me a refurbished machine without my original HDD (hard drive).
So it looks like I’m going to lose all of my saved games, but at least my online status will still be there. Especially my trophy collection, which at last count was nearing or had just surpassed 250. That’s a lot for someone who doesn’t consider themselves an avid gamer. I will admit that I would play my PS3 at least two hours a day, and on Friday’s it would be at least eight hours. Yet, I still do not consider myself a major gamer.
I hope to be back in the game soon though. Especially with the major game releases this fall. There should be plenty of time for me to save up to get a new one by September or October. Either way I will definitely have one by November.
Okay enough about my trials and tribulations let’s move on to the goodies. . .
My dear friend
My Playstation 3
You cost more than I can spend
Oh! How I miss thee
Twas like yesterday that I opened you
Plugged you in and heard your fans turn on
I finally upgraded from a PS2
But now you’re gone
The games we’ve played together
Was time well spent
Ours was a bond no one else could tether
But that has come and went
I miss your rumble and vibration
Why did you leave me all alone?
You were my Playstation
For me and not just for anyone
I cannot wait until the day
That we will be together once more
No matter what I have to pay
But by then I may have a Playstation 4
