Hey there folks! So what does everybody think about the new Disney/Marvel merger? Send your thoughts to me at geeknation@ardmoreite.com. I want to hear what you guys have to say about it. I personally think that it is a very good thing.
In other news - Warner Brothers has established DC Entertainment. (What took them so long? That should have been done years ago.) DC Comics has been owned by Warner Brothers for over 30 years now. I guess they are feeling the pressure from Marvel now with the Avengers film coming up in a few years.
I got a new PS3 Slim for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It’s very cool. It has a black matte finish so you don’t have to worry about fingerprints all over the it. It is definitely lighter and slimmer than the old model. It looks really good too. It feels great to be gaming again. It helps to take my mind off of everything else. Along with the new PS3 I received ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ as a present. That game has to be the best Batman game I have ever played. All the praise that it is getting right now is well deserved. I hear that there is some FREE downloadable content coming for it in a couple of weeks as well.
Looking forward to seeing the film ‘Gamer’. I haven’t had the time to go see it yet, but I plan on it in the next few weeks. After reading the review for ‘Whiteout’ (which you will see below) I am a little hesitant to go see it. The reason for the review of ‘Whiteout’ being in Geek Nation is because it is based on a graphic novel by Greg Riucka and Steve Lieber.
‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ hits Blu-Ray on September 15. Hastings is having a midnight release party for it. I am going to be there taking part is some the deals they may have going on. I hope that you guys will join me. The new video game “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2” also releases the same day. The story line is based on the Civil War story line from a couple of years ago that Marvel did. I am a huge fan of the first game and cannot wait to play the new one.
Well folks I think that’s about all that I have to say this week. Send me your comments about the Disney/Marvel merger and the what you guys think will be the best video game to come out this season. (I personally am looking forward to ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’) Until next time ladies and gents.
