The Bramlett Agency is conducting its quarterly Bramlett Lunch & Learn on planning for long term care at noon on Dec. 3 at the Ardmore Convention Center.
This educational forum will address what long-term care is, the costs associated with such care and how to plan to help cover the costs of long-term care.
Long-term care is a type of assistance received by someone who needs help performing the basic activities of daily living or needs assistance because of severe cognitive impairment. This includes utilizing the services of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home health care.
According to a study by Unum Life Insurance Company of America, on average, nursing home care costs more than $35,000 a year. Also, 57 percent of the people who file a long-term care claim are younger than 65.
Attendance, which includes lunch, is free to the public. Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve a seat, call (580) 223-7300.
