If you are like me, you probably have about 6 gazillion family members to buy gifts for come Christmas time. Also, if you are like me, you have limited funds to accomplish this. So, how do you do do it without breaking the bank?
Here are a few ideas that will hopefully help when considering what to get for uncle Bob, aunt Betty, cousin Joe and that one and only mother-in-law of yours.
• Gift cards or Cold Hard Cash –– You can’t go wrong with either of these. Whether it is a gift card to their favorite store, or cash they can spend anywhere, they are sure to get exactly what they want.
• Sample lotion baskets –– So you can’t remember Aunt Betty’s favorite scent? Play it safe with a basket containing four or five different scents.
• Homemade baked goods –– Yum yum!
• Baskets of cocoa mix and mug –– These are great for those college students in your family.
• Grilling sets –– For that king of the grill in your family who always overcooks the ribeyes.
• Picture frames –– Put a picture of one of the grandkids in it and it is sure to be a hit.
• Manicure or pedicure sets –– What woman wouldn’t like this?
• Family Christmas ornaments –– A great way to buy a gift for your brother- or sister-in-law and their family.
• Tickets to the theater –– For the artsy people in your family.
• Cashews –– My grandad loved them, and now it’s an annual gift for my father-in-law.
• Gift certificates to restaurants –– Who wouldn’t enjoy a free night out?
• Shredder –– With the risk of identity theft these days, it’s a great idea.
• Spice set –– For the cook in the family.
If there are just too many people in your family, you could always stick everyone’s name in a hat and have everyone draw a name. Can you imagine –– showing up to your in-laws with only one gift in your hand? Works for me.
