Ardmore, OK —

A seventh-grade teacher has turned his love of T-shirts into a part time business.

Michael Burton is a self-described “T-shirt guy.” He established Epoch Designs LLC in the fall of 2007. Part of his interest in designing T-shirts grew from working in a Dallas print shop and a screen-printing business in Stillwater while he was in college.

“One of the things I enjoy about Epoch Designs is being able to take somebody else’s idea and work it back and forth. You may come up with a design that becomes their favorite shirt for years and years. I’ve got two artists that help me. I am looking for a local artist.”

Burton has created T-shirts and other merchandise for local schools, sports leagues, churches, banks and businesses. But he says he enjoys his full-time job too much to ever give that up.

Burton teaches 7th grade science at Ardmore Middle School and is assistant wrestling coach for 7th grade through high school.
