Wynnewood, OK —

A Sulphur teenager died early Friday in a two-vehicle crash at the junction of State Highway 17A and U.S. Highway 77 in Garvin County.

Molli R. Allison, 14, was pinned in the wreckage for about an hour before being freed by Wynnewood firefighters and taken to a Pauls Valley hospital when she died, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Allison had been a passenger in a 2007 Pontiac, driving by Aaron T. Allison, 17, Sulphur. He was treated at the Pauls Valley hospital and later released.

Lester Mahorney, 29, Wynnewood, who was driving a 2001 GMC, was taken to Norman Regional Hospital where he was admitted in good condition with an arm injury.

The patrol said Allison was northbound on US 77 about 7:40 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn onto SH 17A. Allison told troopers he didn’t see any oncoming traffic and had turned into the path of Mahorney, who was southbound on US 77.

Only the drivers of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
