Lerkins

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lerkins, Wilson, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Sept. 6, 2008.

Robert Leroy Lerkins, Romulus, N.Y., and Dorothy May Garrison, Rexroat, were married by the Rev. O.J. Welch on Sept. 6, 1958, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Bob retired from Safeway in Ardmore and Gallup-McKinley County Schools as a math teacher in Crownpoint, N.M. Dorothy worked as a homemaker, church secretary and substitute teacher. While in New Mexico, they served for nearly 20 years as volunteer Baptist missionaries to the Navajo Indians. They are members of Rexroat Baptist Church.

They have three sons, Bobby, Oklahoma City; Alan, Des Moines, Iowa; and Brian and wife, Debi, Scottsdale, Ariz.
