The Carter County Retired Educators Association met Jan. 20 at Ponder’s Restaurant with 26 members and guests in attendance. The program was given by Jonathan Blose and Bryan Royse.
They presented information and showed slides about the Northwest Baptist Church mission trip to Ghana, South Africa, during June of 2009. The purpose of the trip was to distribute mosquito netting in various parts of the area. The nets are designed to protect users from various diseases carried by mosquitoes.
Fred Poe gave the Thought of the Month, reading from quotes and thoughts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 17.
