The Chickasaw Nation is accepting nominations for the 2008 Dynamic Woman of the Year Award. The deadline for nominations and supporting documentation is Sept. 24.
Established in 2006, the award honors Chickasaw women who have made significant contributions to the Nation, served as role models to other Chickasaw women and who have made a difference in the lives of Chickasaws and other citizens, enriching their communities and society at large.
The Dynamic Woman of the Year Award salutes the contributions that the recipient has made to improving and enhancing the lives of those around her, professional accomplishments and her dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of the Chickasaw Nation.
Only Chickasaw women, ages 35 and older, with proof of citizenship through Chickasaw Nation citizenship documentation or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood are eligible.
Women who are currently serving as a Chickasaw elected official or in an appointed position of the Executive Branch are not eligible.
The honoree will receive the award at the Chickasaw Arts and Culture Awards Ceremony Oct. 2.
