The Artists of the Arbuckles announce that Peggy Sanford of Davis will conduct a soap-crafting workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday in the art gallery located at 330 Muskogee Ave. in Sulphur.
The workshop will cost $10.
After her grandmother’s death, Sanford found her soap recipe and became interested in the process of home soap making. Her children’s allergies prompted a serious pursuit in this craft, which has developed into a business.
In recent times, she has expanded her knowledge to making lotions, as well.
Workshop attendees will learn how to make soaps using the cold-process method, using vegetable oils and natural ingredients.
Sanford will demonstrate every process involved, as well as the terminology of soap making.
Attendees will have ample opportunity for questions and will take home a notebook with instructions for cold-process soap making.
