McComber

Mr. and Mrs. Mike McComber celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1, 2008, with a private family gathering. They were married on Sept. 3, 1948, in Little Rock, Ark.

Mike was a salesman for Sunshine Biscuit Company before becoming Carter County treasurer, a position he held for 26 years. Velda is a homemaker. Both are enjoying their retirement. They are members of the First Baptist Church.

They have five children, Doug and his wife, Karen, Ardmore; Belinda Fields and her husband, Bill, Springer; Teresa Langdon and her husband, David, Elmore City; Janette Ramsay and her husband, Roger, Lone Grove; and Annette Turner and her husband, Donnie, Lone Grove.

They have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
