The Carter County Retired Educators Association met May 19 at Ponder’s Restaurant. There were 13 members and guests present.
The program was presented by Jay Johnson, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Mercy Memorial Health Center of Ardmore.
Johnson gave a detailed report about the progress of construction at the new hospital facility and invited everyone to attend an open house scheduled in June.
Doris Crandall gave the Thought of the Month reading from “Out the Mouths of Babes: Thoughts and Answers to Questions About Marriage.”
The recipient of the Carter County Retired Educators $500 Scholarship was announced as Paul Fulton, senior at Wilson High School. Lucinda Hull was recognized for her contribution of $250 to the scholarship fund in memory of her husband, Danny Hull.
The next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 15.
