Pearl Carter Scott film casting call Tuesday in Ada

The Chickasaw Nation will have open auditions for a movie about the life of Pearl Carter-Scott from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at 121 W. Main St. in Ada.


This film tells the true story of the late Pearl Carter Scott, a Chickasaw girl who is well known as the youngest licensed pilot in America. Befriended by famous aviator Wiley Post in the late 1920s, Scott was performing as a barnstormer and commercial pilot by age 14.


Available roles will include a lead role as Pearl Carter Scott. This actress will play a Native American female, ages 14  to 18. This actress must have star quality. The role will require approximately 18 days of work.


Supporting roles will include Young Pearl, a Native American female ages 9 to 12; and Lucy, a Native American female 30 to 40 years old.


Other roles include:


Widow Harjo — a fluent Chickasaw speaker between the ages of 50 to 60.
Young Georgie — a Native American male age 5 to 7.
Georgie — a Native American male age 11 to 13.
Young Arnetta — a Native American female age 8 to 10.
Arnetta — a Native American female age 13 to 15.
Mr. Ishmatubbe — a Native American male age 30 to 50.
Chickasaw player 1 and 2 — Native American males or females in their teens.


Individuals selected will need to be available to start filming Sept. 13 and be available for approximately four to five weeks.
