The Chickasaw Regional Library System will conclude the Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma reading and discussion series, “Crime and Comedy: The Lighter Side of Murder and Misdemeanor” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The final books for discussion are “Cozy” by Parnell Hall and “One for the Money” by Janet Evanovich.
“Cozy”, as the title suggests, pokes fun at the tradition of the “cozy” mystery. “One for the Money” introduces Stephanie Plum of Trenton, N.J., a recently laid-off lingerie buyer who finds work by becoming a bond hunter. The final books will be led by Dr. Trisha Yarbrough, professor of English at East Central University.
Dr. Yarbrough has taught literature and composition for over 20 years at ECU and spent two years as chair of the English Department. Her specialities include contemporary American literature, including Native American literature, women’s literature, mystery fiction and southern literature (especially Oklahoma literature). Yarbrough has spoken over 70 times for Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma programs at public libraries throughout the state.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call CRLS at (580) 223-3164 or toll free at (888) 520-8103. Chickasaw Regional Library is located at 601 Railway Express in Ardmore.
