Ardmore will be the host for the 1st Regional Harley-Davidson Owner’s Group (H.O.G.) Rally, Oct. 5-7.
Harley-Davidson has made the decision to discontinue holding state rallies and go to a bigger rally concept that will encompass multiple states. There will be 15 Regional Rallies in 2017 and Ardmore will be the location for the Central H.O.G. Rally.
More than 2000 Harley-Davidson (H.O.G.) riders from across the region are expected to attend the rally this year.
When the Oklahoma State H.O.G. Rally was held in Ardmore in 2004, 2005 and 2010 it was reported that about $400,000 was pumped into the community of Ardmore. The Regional rally will be much bigger and will be a great opportunity, not only to show off the community, but to bring fresh money into Ardmore. The average H.O.G. member will spend approximately $200 per day between hotels, restaurants, shopping, gas, and other expenses.
During the rally, riders will take part in a variety of activities, games and test of riding skills, a bike show, and observation rides. Saturday afternoon, a giant parade of Harley-Davidsons will wind through the streets of Ardmore. The highlight of the three-day rally will be riding the scenic areas around Ardmore.
“It is great to be able to return to Ardmore. The convention center is a first-class facility and the community of Ardmore is always excited to have us back. It makes it much easier to plan a great rally when businesses understand the benefits of a rally in their community, like Ardmore does,” Rally Coordinator Donna Hingtgen said.
The rally committee is working to provide a quality rally for the participants. The rally committee is currently seeking sponsors and advertisers for this year’s rally. The committee will be in Ardmore soon to begin planning and to meet with potential sponsors.
