An Ardmore man told police Monday night he was trying to escape an attacker when he accidently drove into a fence.
The victim said he had pulled into a parking lot in the 600 block of North Commerce Street about 9:35 p.m. to pick up a friend. That’s when he said  a man leaned into his car through the window and began punching him.
Sgt. Brice Woolly, Ardmore Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, said the victim told officers he tried flee and instead drove into the metal fencing owned by a business. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
Meanwhile, the attacker got into a car and fled. Woolly said two suspects reportedly involved in the assault have been named. Investigation continues.
