Byrl V. Howard, age 86, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Ardmore, Okla., after a long illness.
Byrl was the son of Virgil and Clodell Howard. He attended Cheek and Lone Grove School. He enjoyed a 47 year career with Producers Oil Company of Tulsa, Okla. He served as a Deacon in several Southern Baptist Churches and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ardmore. He was a 50 plus year member of the Lone Grove Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rite Mason, Tulsa Consistory. He participated in Alcoholics Anonymous for 38 years and was influential in helping others in gaining and maintaining their sobriety. He was an outstanding athlete, a member of the “Ding Dong Daddies of Dumas, Texas,” baseball team and an avid outdoorsman.
Byrl is survived by his wife, Wanda Howard; sister, Patsy Sullivan and husband, Vernie; His children: James and Debbie Howard, Vernon and Cindy Howard, Regina and Johnnie Dearman, Lesley and Jimmy Bunch, and Larry and Pat Hite; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jimmie Leeann, Caleb, Steve, Seth, Jeff, Eli, Heather, Dustin, Chase, and Lisa; great-grandchildren: Zoe Mae, Carter Grace, Haley, Josie, Russell, Brittney, and Nisha; great-great-grandchild, Xander.
