HFV Wilson Community Center is offering adults an unique opportunity this summer. It’s the chance to trade in being an adult for a weekend and be a kid again at Camp Staywild.
Why? Simple. Alicia Henry, center executive director, explains, “Who doesn’t want to be a kid again? Frankly being an adult is hard.”
Camp Staywild is an opportunity to “go off-the-grid,” no matter who you are or your station in life.
“At our adult summer camp, everyone is equal and is going to experience the same enchantment of the campfire and the fun that being a kid offers. What’s camp without a T-shirt? You know we got one for you,” Henry promises.
Camp Staywild will be June 2-4 in Dukes Forest at Lake Murray. The camp will  feature:
• Dancing under the stars
• Hiking
• Water sports
• Team competitions
• Movie On the Big Screen:
• Silliness
• S’mores and more (meals provided)
• Tent Camping (bring your own tent)
There’s only one requirement to attend Camp Staywild — you must be 21 or older.
The cost is $60 for singles and $100 for couples and includes camp T-shirts. Register at funinardmore.org or in person at HFV Wilson Community Center, 625 E. Main Street.
“We also need summer camp counselors,” Henry said. “Those interested in volunteering for a camp counselor slot should call Henry at (580) 2223-0136 or email her at ahenry@ardmorecity.com.
