SULPHUR — Funeral services for Frank Daniel Talkington will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel in Sulphur with Pastor Eddie Dye officiating. Interment will follow at the Drake Cemetery south of Sulphur.
Frank was born Nov. 12, 1943, in Sulphur to the late O.D. “Twink” and Eula (Williams) Talkington. He died Monday, May 15, 2017, in Sulphur, at the age of 73 years 6 months and 3 days. Frank and the former Wanda Sue Andrews were married on Dec. 27, 1963, in Baum.
Frank was a lifelong resident of southern Oklahoma. Following his graduation from Dickson High School, he began a 55-year career working as a ranch hand for several area ranches, retiring in 2006. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. Frank was known for being quite the prankster and was always ready to catch the next victim of his latest prank. Frank loved his family. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; one daughter, Melody Ann Talkington of Dallas; one son, Keith Talkington and wife, Shelli of Midwest City; two grandchildren, Ashley and Mitchell Talkington of Midwest City; two sisters, Faye Williams and husband, Raymond of Mill Creek and Janie Bell and husband, Bobby of Lone Grove; one uncle, Julian Williams and wife, Joyce of Sulphur; one aunt, Murel Garrison of Ardmore; special cousin, Don Garrison of Dickson; special daughter, Judy Bryant of Tishomingo; two brothers-in-law, Troy Winford Andrews of Frisco, Texas and Wendyle Andrews of Ardmore; and a special niece, Blair Andrews Bland of North Richland Hills, Texas.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Quenten and Ronald Talkington; and two nieces, Lisa Johnston and Karen Andrews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
