KINGSTON — A 34-year-old Wilson woman was critically injured Tuesday night when the car she was driving was hit head-on on U.S. Highway 70.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Chrystal Dawn Stepp was air lifted from the scene of the 10:25 p.m. crash two miles north of Kingston. Stepp, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained multiple injuries. She was admitted in critical condition to Plano Medical Center, Plano, Texas.
Stepp had been driving southbound on the highway when her car was struck by a northbound 2008 GMC pickup, driven by 23-year-old Austin Gage Pittman, Waurika. The patrol said the accident was the result of Pittman’s attempt to pass a semi in a no passing zone. Pittman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Madill Police and Fire Departments and Kingston Police Department assisted OHP at the scene.
