While most athletes are spending their summer relaxing and re-energizing, this isn’t the case for the girls on the Ardmore Lady Thunder basketball team.

This past weekend, the girls played their first tournament of the summer season at the PrimeTime Summer Hoops Tournament, which was held in Denton, Texas.

Despite having a limited amount of time to prepare and practice, the team managed to claim second overall in a very tough field of talented teams.

In the opening contest, the Lady Thunder defeated the Lady Storm Black, winning by a score of 52-36.

The second game of the tournament wasn’t as kind to the Lady Thunder as they were defeated 58-42 thanks to the Top Achievers Sparks team.

In the third contest, the Ardmore Lady Thunder managed to rebound and claim a comfortable 54-19 victory over the HG Elite.

The tournament ended on a high note as the Lady Thunder won 54-22 against the Texas Threat, claiming second place overall.

There will be no time to rest as the Lady Thunder will join the Ardmore Tiny Thunder this weekend in Norman at the Heartland Hoops Fest Tournament. The following weekend, the Lady Thunder will travel to Springdale, Arkansas for another tournament.

The members of the Ardmore Lady Thunder High School girls basketball team include Miyah McGee, Tieronay Banks, Sierra Gordon, Makila Case, Landri McClure, Amaya Gordon, and D’Ericka Peters, and they are coached by Josh McGee, the founder of the Ardmore Thunder JAM Association.
