Whether you’re looking to hit the links for a good cause, or run for one, there is no shortage of upcoming golf tournaments and 5K/Fun Runs throughout the area this summer.

Saturday morning the annual Sulphur High School Alumni golf tournament will take place from Sulphur Hills golf course, with the event being hosted by the SHS Class of 1987. 

The entry fee per player is $40, which includes green fee, with proceeds benefitting the David Thompson ’77 scholarships.

Interested parties are asked to call 580-622-5057 for questions.

Also on Saturday, Lakeview Golf Course in Ardmore will be hosting an 18-hole 2-person scramble event which benefits the Ardmore Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund. The cost is $65 per person.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with lunch being served at noon, and a shotgun start taking place at 1 p.m.

Those interested in playing in the event are asked to call Golf Committee Chairman Jimmy Antuna at 580-490-1037.

On June 24, Lakeview Golf Course will also be hosting the first annual Sunset Lodge No. 85 Masonic fundraiser tournament, with the cost being $65 per person. There is also hole sponsorships available for $100, and four mulligans per team for $20.

The 2-man scramble event will have a shotgun start of 8 a.m. with first and second place trophies awarded at the event. 

There will also be prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive at the event.

Ardmore Regional Park will be hosting a pair of 5K/Fun Run events over the next few weeks, beginning with Saturday’s Chickasaw Nation 5K event. 

This event is free and open to the public, with on-site registration available the day of the race.

Both the 5K and Fun Run events will begin at 8 a.m. with participants able to pick up their race packets beginning at 7 a.m.

On July 8, the third annual Fancy 5K/Fun Run will take place from Regional Park as well.

The race will begin at 7:30 a.m., with participants able to pick up their race packets at 6:30 a.m.
