A private family memorial service for Dorothy Ponder was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Lawrence Anderson officiating.
Dorothy was born November 9, 1921, in New Kensington, Pa., to John and Eva (Ogle) Johnson.  She passed this life on June 14, 2017. She and J.B. Ponder were married on July 5, 1945 in Sulphur, Okla.
Dorothy enjoyed a full life, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as the owner and manager of the westward motel in Ardmore for many years. Dorothy believed in her community and regularly volunteered at Franklin Elementary School and with her Brownie’s troop.  
She enjoyed road trips to Colorado and Yellowstone National Park. Later in life, Dorothy traveled with the First National Bank travel club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved dog Gracie. These were some of her fondest memories.  
She is survived by her daughter, Marcella Ponder of Ardmore; grandchildren, John B. Sullivan of Austin, Texas, Lena Treanor her husband, Jose Treanor of Ardmore, Patricia Ponder and Kelly Doss, family friend of Ardmore; great-granddaughter, Jaqueline Sloan Treanor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, JB Ponder; son, Phillip Ponder; stepson, Joe Ben Ponder and his wife, Frances; and her brother, John Johnson.
