MARIETTA — Services for Gary L. “Beau” Huff of Marietta, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Marietta’s Eastside Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Gardner, assisted by Pastor Brett Alberda. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, will follow under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marietta.
Gary was born in Oklahoma City, on Jan. 31, 1962, the son of Beulah Benton and passed away Saturday, July 8, at his home at the age of 55.
A resident of Love County since the early 1980s, Gary attended school in Tishomingo, Okla. He and Tara Payne were married Sept. 1, 2008, in Marietta. Gary graduated CLEET C93B4 and had been in law enforcement for 23 years, most recently as a deputy with the Love County Sheriff’s Department. He was very dedicated to his job and his community. As everyone knows, Gary was very proud of his Native American heritage (½ Chickasaw). His hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, and shooting guns, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family. Gary was a member of Marietta’s Eastside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Benton; and brother, Michael Huff.
Survivors include his wife, Tara of the home; five sons, Michael Huff and wife, Ashley of Lone Grove, Chris Huff of Dallas, Dusty Huff and wife, Abbie of Wichita, Kan., and Brendan Greenwood and wife, Amy and Malachi Greenwood and wife, Kelsey, all of Marietta; seven grandchildren; aunt, Verna John of Dallas; and cousins, Wendell John of Dallas and Billy Don Benton of Madill.
Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Huff, Chris Huff, Brendan Greenwood, Dusty Huff, Malachi Greenwood and Wendell John. Honorary bearers will be members of the Love County Sheriff’s Department and the Marietta Police Department.
Time of visitation for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
