OVERBROOK – Graveside services for Mark Allan Mapp, 55, will be 10 a.m. today at the McAlister Cemetery, Overbook, Okla., with Pastor Ed Skidmore officiating.
Mark was born in Dallas to J.B. and Alta Mapp and passed away July 11, 2017, at his residence in Ardmore.
Mark enjoyed fishing with his dad. They would go every chance they could. Mark also loved his Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys teams.  And of course his passions were airplanes and drag racing.
Mark is survived by his father and best friend, J.B. Mapp of Ardmore; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and J.P. Powelson of Stratford, Okla.; nephews, William Oats and Tyson of Moore, Allan and Samantha Oats of Marlow, and Scott Oats of Texas; niece, Tayler Oats of Stratford; great-nephews Kole, Austin, Wyatt, Waylon and Trooper; and a great-niece, Bailey.
His mother Alta Mapp preceded him in death.
Mark I know we had our ups and downs but, that’s what brothers and sisters do.  You taught me a lot on working on my vehicles. You were the best caregiver to our father in his time of need.  Hope I can be as good.  Dad and I will miss you a lot.  Now you’re with mom, she will guide you through.  Rest In Peace brother. Your sister Carolyn.
