Wilma Alleen Adams, 80, Del City, passed peacefully from this world Saturday, July 15, 2017 in her daughter’s home. She was surrounded by her loving family under the tender care of Crossroads Hospice.
She was born on January 14, 1937 in Deese, Okla. to E.W. “Red” and Maggie Smith. She graduated from Springer High School in 1956 and married the love of her life H.K. “Kenny” Adams in June 1956. A proud military wife, Wilma faithfully followed her husband around the U.S. in service to our country. When her husband retired from the U.S. Air Force the family returned to Oklahoma where she worked as a data operator for Dolese Bros. Co. for more than 20 years. Wilma was a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church in Del City. A devout Christian, Wilma had a sweet and loving soul and she enjoyed caring for her family. She retired to care for her ailing husband Kenny and remained by his side until his death in January of 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters; Debi Nakanashi and her husband Warren, their children Chenise Brooks, Cheyenne and Jacob Nakanashi; Laura Hall, her husband John, their children, Tanner Hickman, his wife Miranda, Andrew Hickman, his wife Chloe, and Shayla Hall. Three sisters, Joann Norman, Nelda Harrison and her husband Jackie, of Springer, and Linda Smith of Oklahoma City. Five great grandchildren, Oliver and Kenny Hickman, Alayla and Roman Brooks, and Ryker Davidson.
She is preceded in death by her parents E.W. “Red” and Maggie Smith, her husband Kenny, sister Rosalee Wells, and brother-in-law Eddy Norman.
A public viewing will be held on July 18, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford Funeral Service, 305 S. Sooner Road, Del City, Okla.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 10 a.m. at New Hope Church of God in Ardmore. Graveside services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Services will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association at alz.org.
