Memorial services for Jack Heffington, 80, of Marietta, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta, with Lawrence Anderson officiating, assisted by Chaplain Matt Benedick.
The son of C.F. Heffington and Ruby Bell Heffington, Jack was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Clinton, Ark. He passed away in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
Jack graduated from high school in Clinton, Ark. and then served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he remained in Germany for two years touring and singing with a band. Jack was employed as a salesman for an advertising company, and then owned and operated his own company, Data Systems, creating information centers for hotels. As an employee of WinStar, he worked security and also drove a shuttle. Jack enjoyed buying and selling guns and going to flea markets.
He was a lifelong member of the VFW in Gainesville, Texas.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lou Heffington; and brother-in- law, Ed Miller.
Survivors include his companion and best friend of 20 years, Kathryn Miller of the home; daughter, Candy Reeves and husband Wade of Rhome, Texas; sister, Sandra Miller of Little Rock, Ark.; stepson, Darrin Miller of Marietta; and three grandchildren, Mackinsie Heffington of Fort Worth and Axel Pierce and Betsey Kate Miller of Marietta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home; Cremation Services, Marietta.
