LONE GROVE –– Services for Hazel Maxine Morrow, 79, will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove with the Reverend Morgan Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow at Newport Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The daughter of the late Roy E. and Chloe Erma Amrine Toles, Hazel was born January 10, 1938, at Tryon, Okla. and passed away July 24, 2017 in Longview, Texas. She received an associates degree in nursing from Murray State College and worked for Memorial Hospital of Southern Oklahoma and Mercy Hospital. She married Charles E. Morrow, Sr., February 15, 1955, in Ardmore. They lived in the Newport area for 40 years before moving to Tatum, Texas in 2015 to be near family. Hazel was an avid reader and enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables in her garden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove.
Hazel is survived by her husband Charles Morrow, Sr. of the home; her children, Judy Stephens and her husband, Tommy of Longview, Texas; Chuck Morrow of Wilson, Okla.; and Tony Morrow and his wife, Susan of Tatum, Texas; sisters, Winnie Bowen, Georgia Murch and husband, Frank, and Edna Spears; her grandchildren, Corey Jones and wife, Lindsey of Longview; Sarah Morrow of Wilson; Amanda Morrow of Tatum; Dustin Morrow and wife, Caroline of Bonham, Texas; and Amber Morrow of Lone Grove; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Peggy Morrow; granddaughter, Aimee Griffith; brothers, Buddy and Butch Toles; and sisters, June Throne, Ruth Rall, Jean Hill and Annabelle Acker. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Stephens, Corey Jones, Dustin Morrow, Jack Hays, Jeff Miller, Rusty Gillispie and Dylan Stephens.
