After getting into the swing of things with the 2017-18 season, area fast pitch teams will get their first taste of outside competition this weekend.

After getting into the swing of things with the 2017-18 season, area fast pitch teams will get their first taste of outside competition this weekend.

Multiple teams will be participating in the Chisholm Trail Classic in Shawnee from the Ballfields at Firelake, while others will be looking elsewhere for opposition.

Ardmore, Plainview and Lone Grove will be traveling to Shawnee beginning today.

The Lady Tigers will be looking to rebound from a controversial defeat on Tuesday afternoon against Lexington. AHS will be facing Dale JV, Chandler, Tecumseh, Washington and Bridge Creek.

Plainview will also face multiple tough opponents as the Lady Indians will look to break out of their 0-3 deficit to start the season.

Meanwhile, the Lone Grove Lady Horns will look to continue their impressive start to the season this weekend.

LGHS is 3-0 entering its first tournament action of the season, and will be facing Tuttle, Piedmont, Bethel, Cache and Mustang this weekend.

Elsewhere, the Healdton Lady Bulldogs will be in action at the Lady Broncho Invitational hosted by Central High beginning today.

HHS will take on Geronimo at 9 a.m. this morning followed by an 11:30 a.m. matchup against Wayne. Friday will bring the challenge of the Velma-Alma Lady Comets followed by a game against the Sterling Lady Tigers. 

Ringling will be at the Rock Creek tournament beginning today as the Lady Blue Devils aim to keep up their solid start to the season, following an opening day victory over Wilson.

Speaking of Wilson, the Lady Eagles will be joining the Marietta Lady Indians beginning on Friday as the I-35 Clash Festival takes place from Marietta.

Ryan and Bray-Doyle will be the other teams taking part in the festival throughout the weekend.

Games will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday with Ryan taking on Marietta, followed by Wilson tangling with Marietta at 4:15 p.m.

Wilson will take on Bray-Doyle at 6 p.m. to end the first day on Friday.

Saturday’s games will have Ryan against Bray-Doyle beginning at 2:30 p.m. followed by Wilson vs. Ryan at 4 p.m. and Bray-Doyle taking on Marietta at 6 p.m.

Before the festival takes place though, the Lady Indians will be in action at Dickson today as part of a triangular along with Comanche with games set to begin at 4 p.m.

For the Turner Lady Falcons and Madill Lady Wildcats, they will be taking part in the Calera Tournament beginning today.

First round matches will see Turner taking on Coleman at 6:30 p.m. with the winner meeting Wright City at 12:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. 

Madill will face off with Caney at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, with the winner facing Kiowa at 6:30 p.m. the same evening. 

In other action today, the Sulphur Lady Bulldogs will travel to take on Maud at 4:30 p.m.

Sulphur opened its season on Tuesday with an 11-8 victory over the Byng Lady Pirates to open the defense of their district championship.
