Robert “Bob” Elledge was born May 28, 1932 in Pruitt City, Okla. to Dessie (Carter) and James Luther Elledge. He passed from this life on August 10, 2017 at the age of 85. Bob graduated from Fox High School in 1949. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. On August 8, 1953, he married Zala Morgan in Sparta, Wisconsin. Together they had two children, Allen and Roberta. Bob had many jobs throughout his life but spent most of it as an electrician. After Zala passed away he married LaRue Walker. Bob was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Springer.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Dessie Elledge; wife Zala Elledge; wife LaRue Elledge; brothers Kenneth Elledge, James Elledge, and Don Elledge; and sisters Elaine Chavers, Laura Elledge, and Jane Brock.
He is survived by his son Allen Elledge and his wife Rita of Ardmore; daughter Roberta Gustine and her husband Fred of Lone Grove; stepchildren Chris Lehne and Karen Pierce; brothers Dewey Elledge and his wife Sandy of Niagara Falls, New York, and Randall Elledge of Baytown, Texas; brother-in-law Jimmy Brock of Gene Autry; grandchildren Jordan Elledge and his wife Na’Cole, Kelsey Elledge, Natalie Elledge, Morgan Jenkins and her husband David, and Clay Pierce; and great-grandchildren Guthrie Elledge and Ritter Elledge.
Jordan Elledge, Bobby Elledge, Kenneth Elledge, Tommy Elledge, David Jenkins, and Gary Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends and coffee buddies from Springer and surrounding communities.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 15, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brian Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan Rest Cemetery.
