Funeral services for Charles Eugene Morrow, Sr. will be at 10  a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove, conducted by Rev. Morgan Ashworth. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery with the assistance of Corey Jones, Dustin Morrow, Jack Hays, Jeff Miller, Rusty Gillispie and Harlan Carrell serving as pallbearers.
A forty year resident of the Newport Community before moving to Tatum, Texas in 2015, Charles was born August 30, 1935 at Graham, Oklahoma to the late Charlie B. and Beulah Sheba (Hughes) Morrow.  Following a period of failing health he passed away August 24, 2017 in a Henderson, Texas convalescent home at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 24 days.
Charles and the former Hazel Maxine Toles were married February 15, 1955 at Ardmore. The parents of four children, Chuck, Tony, Judy and Peggy, they had been married 62 years when Hazel died July 24, 2017.
A member of the Lone Grove First Baptist Church. Charles had worked his entire life in the oil fields. He had been a roughneck, floor hand, roustabout, driller and tool pusher, retiring in 1990 from Penrod Drilling Company.  A life member of the National Rifle Association he enjoyed hunting, fishing; and watching OU and OSU football.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Morrow and granddaughter, Aimee Griffith.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. “Chuck” Morrow, Jr. of Wilson; Tony Morrow and wife, Susan of Tatum, Texas; a daughter, Judy Stephens and husband, Tommy, Longview, Texas; five grandchildren, Corey Jones and wife, Lindsey, Sarah Morrow, Amanda Morrow, Dustin Morrow and wife, Caroline and Amber Morrow; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Morrow, half-brother, Glenn Thomason, half-sister, Norma Hill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Services have been entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory; where a time of visitation and support for family and friends has been set from 6 to 7 p.m Sunday evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore.  Condolences to the family may be sent online at
