1 Octoberfest kicks off Saturday in Choctaw. Every year, Old Germany Restaurant, the City of Choctaw and the Choctaw Chamber host Choctaw Oktoberfest under 30,000 square-feet of tents and pavilion at Choctaw Creek Park. Oktoberfest runs from  Sept. 1 through Sept. 9 and features nine days of the best in German food, beer, wine, dancing and more. Admission is $5 for adults and children under 12 are admitted free.

2 Saturday marks the final day of the Goddard Center’s Juxtapostion exhibit featuring Oklahoma-based artist Skip Hill and California-based artist Todd Gray. The center’s next exhibit, Living Ghosts, is scheduled to open Sept. 5.

3 The Marshall County Sheriff Office Reserves will take to the roads Saturday for its annual Piggy Poker Run. Riders are asked to meet at the Fred Stanley Center in Madill at 9 a.m. Entry fees are $20 per riders and $10 for passengers. The ride begins at 10 a.m.

4 The PBR Built Ford Tough Series comes to The Colosseum at the WinStar World Casino at 6:45 p.m. Saturday for a night full of intense rodeo action. Professional bull riders from around the world will descend on Thackerville for the event. Brazilian  Guilherme Marchi won the event last year.

5 The Pauls Valley Opry opens its doors at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with the show starting at 6:30 p.m.
This month the Memory Makers Band welcomes Becca Herrod, Tanner Young, Emily Shannon, Terry Wilson, Mary Mcdonald and John David Smith along with emcee Danny Gamble.
