Grove saw $4087.57 increase in sales tax receipts in September with $591,637.74, compared to the same month last year but was down $5854.68 from from August receipts according to the report released by the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

The September distribution of sales tax collections primarily represents local tax receipts from July business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.

The monies they reported this period represent sales from July 16th to July 31st and estimated sales from August 1st to August 15th.

In area towns, Jay was up $11,464.85 with September receipts totaling $98,143.71 compared to $86,678.86 in September 2016.

Afton was up slightly by $27.36 with $24,684.59 and Fairland was also slightly up with $17,241.45, a $251.44 increase over last year.

Colcord also saw an increase with $10,435.85, up from $8337.85 in 2016. The town of Disney collected $6829.20

Miami receipts fell by $13,779.93 with $528,825.68 compared to $532,605.61 in 2016.

In county returns, the counties shared in a $28,564,549 sales tax disbursement and a $2,201,905 use tax disbursement.

Delaware County saw an increase of $15,790.65 with receipts totaling $456,901.24 and Ottawa County showed a $42,191.62 increase with $312,793.62.

Nearby Craig County has a huge increase in collections totaling $82,333.09 over last year with $314,377.24.
