Ora Merle Cook, 80, of Ardmore, passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 in Ardmore. She was born on April 9, 1937, in Cameron, Texas to the late Roy C. Cummings and Pearlie Irene Williams Cummings. Ora was raised in Cameron and Dallas, and moved to Kingston in 1977, and has lived in Ardmore for the last year. She married Jack Cook and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1999. Ora was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed planting flowers, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Theresa Smith and husband, Rob, Ardmore, Jimmy Hill and wife, Karen, Willis, Okla., Joe Hill and wife, Connie, Denison, Texas, Rick Wise, Dallas, Lee Wise and wife, Shalee, Shay, Okla., Eddie Wise and wife, Dawn, Springer, Gary Wise, Ardmore; 29 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Lee Cummings and wife, Linda, Oregon, Jimmy Dale Cummings and wife, Linda, Ennis, Texas, Gary Cummings and wife, Ruth Campbell, Texas, James Cummings and wife, Jeanette, Lavon, Texas.
Ora was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Gladys Clem, baby sister; Martha, brothers; Clifford, Larry, Billy and Paul Cummings, great-grandson; Nathan Roy Hill, Great-granddaughter; Angel Renee Hill.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a family hour from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston. Edward Wise will officiate the service. Music will be arranged by Rob Smith. Casket bearers will be Randy Cummings, Jack Hill, John Hudson, Johnny Smith, Edward Wise, and Tyler Wise. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the Kingston Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
