MANNSVILLE — Charles Edwin Gray, 72, of Mannsville, Okla., passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home in Mannsville. He was born on November 26, 1944, in Willis, Okla., to the late Ollie “Bud” Gray and Lela Cryer Gray. Charles was raised in the Russett and Mannsville area and graduated from Mannsville High School in 1963. He married Geraldine Barnes on March 28, 1964, in Willis. Charles moved to Oklahoma City for a short time where he worked for Skill Power Tools and Perkins Fire Protection. In 1969 he moved back to Mannsville and in 1978 he bought the DX Station where he worked as a mechanic. After selling the station he farmed and ranched. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church and he enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gray of the home; his son, Charlie Gray and wife, Deanie of Mannsville; two grandchildren, Derek Gray and wife, Teya, of Mannsville, and  Dara Wesberry and husband, Les of Durant; two great-grandchildren,  Dierks Gray and Charlee, Mannsville; two brothers,  Donald Gray and wife, Deanie of Del City, Okla., Ernest Gray of Mannsville; three sisters, Margie Forguson of Russett, Okla., Geneva Rigney of Mannsville, and  Betty Green and husband, Jerry of Mannsville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ollie Ray, Carl “Dunt”, Tommy Gene and Dan; and a sister, Leoma McClung.
Visitation will be Thursday, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services will be Friday, September 29, 2017, at 2 p.m., at the Mannsville First Baptist Church. Kevin Russell will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Lone Cedar Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Joe Rigney, Darell Rigney, Duston Gray, Danny Gray, Mike Gray and Robbie Gray. Honorary bearers will be: Jimmy Don Forguson, Randy Gray, JD McAdams, Donald Gray, Randy Gray, Michael Gray, Gatlin Looney and Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
