Shirley Elizabeth Deville, 84, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by family after a lifelong battle with lung issues. She was born June 14, 1933, in Ardmore to Jess Wallace and Maude Bobo Wallace. She homesteaded Alaska in the early 60’s alongside husband Ray, they then built a successful pipeline business in New Zealand in the 70’s. Upon returning to the United States in the 80’s, she devoted her time to her family and church.
Shirley enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and gardening, but her true passion was playing the piano and singing. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Maude, brothers; Cecil Wallace, Doug Wallace, sisters; Betty Wallace and Lillian Talley. Shirley is survived by her daughter Dianne DeVille of Ardmore; sons Kevin DeVille of Ardmore, Darrel DeVille and wife Cindy of Frisco, Texas; brother Jim Wallace and wife Dean of Smyrna, Georgia; sisters Marylyn Rudd and husband Jim of Ardmore, Jean Crump of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren Lindsey Rames and husband Philip of Cedar Hill, Texas, Joshua DeVille and wife Rachel of Frisco, Texas, Destiny DeVille of Frisco, Texas; four great grandchildren Jeremiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Heaven and a host of family and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Rudd officiating. Online condolences may be made at craddockfuneralhome.com.
