A traffic stop early Sunday morning for a defective brake light led to a man being arrested for drug possession and intoxicated driving, Ardmore Police Department reports.
Billy Vaughn, 27, began “sweating profusely” when police pulled him over on 11th St. NE Sunday morning, said Ardmore Police Capt. Keith Ingle.
Police, suspicious of his sweating in the cold weather, administered a field sobriety test on Vaughn, determining that he was under the influence of something, Ingle said.
Vaughn admitted to having an unknown amount of marijuana in his vehicle as police prepared to have a K-9 unit sniff for drugs. But the K-9 unit discovered a “baggie” of what they believed to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe in addition to the marijuana, Ingle said.
Ingle could not confirm the exact amount of drugs found on Vaughn.
Vaughn was later booked into Carter County Jail and faces eight potential charges including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia.
