Iowa native, Danny Charles Thomason,  passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 16 days.  He was born to the late Don and Carole Lewis Thomason, April 1, 1944, at Sioux City, Iowa.  
During the Vietnam War period Danny had served in the Signal Corps of the U. S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge.
He and the former Linda Stange were married March 28, 1969 at Merrill, Iowa.  They had celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary earlier this year.  They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Mannsville, where Danny sang in the choir.
Danny had been a maintenance technician for Terra Chemical in Woodward, Oklahoma, before moving to the Dickson community in 1999. He was the owner and operator of Thomason Welding at his shop North of Dickson on their “Sunshine Acres” from 1999 to 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Thomason of the home in the Dickson community; a son, Mike Thomason and his wife, Julie, of Sulphur, and a daughter, Tanya Meritt and her husband, Travis, of Woodward, Oklahoma; also six grandchildren, Kylee, Kristen and Cameron Thomason; Jordan Meritt and his fiancée, Blayre Von Biedenfield, Cole and Tobi Meritt and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Grace Meritt.  In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a brother.  
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Rev. Ron King and Rev. Frank Simpson will officiate at funeral services 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. An honors team from the U. S. Army will provide Military Honors.
