Lifetime Ardmore resident Kathanell Samantha Hamilton Mitchell went to be with her Heavenly Father on Oct. 16, 2017, at an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 12 days.
Kathanell was born on Aug. 4, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late Jerome Abram and Sarah (Smith) Abram.
A resident of Ardmore all of her life, Kathanell attend Dunbar Elementary and Douglass High Schools.  Kathanell was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales, going on car rides, and could often be seen sitting in the park. 
She leaves to cherish precious memories her daughter, Nan Hamilton, and son, Anthony Abram, a brother, Walter Sampson, and sister, Evelyn Simpson; eight grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents;  a son, Richard, daughters, Priscilla and Stephanie and a grandson, Jerry McQuin.
Reverend John Credle, Jr., pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church will officiate her Home Going services at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Clearview Cemetery.
