Funeral services for Irinea Govea will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at St. Mary’s Church with Father Ernesto Calvillo officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ardmore. A Rosary will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday evening at Craddock Funeral Home followed by a visitation.
Irinea Govea was born July 27, 1931, to Paula (Martinez) and Camilo Morales in Aguascalientes, Mexico. She passed from this life on Oct. 18, 2017, at the age of 86.
Irinea married Jose Concepcion Govea on March 3, 1945. She moved from Mexico to the United States in 1980, where she obtained her Citizenship. Irinea worked at Casa Romo and was known around Ardmore as “Grandma.”
Irinea was preceded in death by her parents Paula and Camilo Morales; husband, Jose Govea; and brothers Juan Morales, Jacinto Morales, Teodulo Morales, and Atanasio Morales.
She is survived by her daughters Socorro Romo and her husband Jose, Belen Becerra, and Maria Colmenero and her husband Isidro; sons Jose Govea and his wife Angela and Martin Govea and his wife Noelia; 22 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Juan Carlos Romo, Oscar Romo, Daniel Romo, Hector Romo, Aaron Colmenero, and Pepe Govea will serve as pallbearers.
