The 2 Hip Chicks Roadshow will hit Ardmore this Saturday with a collection of 110 crafty vendors selling everything from handmade gifts and jewelry to antiques and furniture.
Co-owner Amanda Johnson said this will be the roadshow’s fourth time in Ardmore, and the show has grown every year.
“We’ve got jewelry, boutique items, accessories, metalwork, and stuff like furniture that people are repurposing,” Johnson said. “Me, I just call that good ol’ junk.”
2 Hip Chicks, which Johnson co-runs with business partner Trina Gonzales, is based in Tulsa. Johnson said they run 16 shows a year in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas, each with its own mix of local and traveling vendors that varies from location to location.
“It’s always about 20 of the same vendors and then the rest are always different,” Johnson said. “But every time, it’s always a huge variety with lots of different vendors.”
The roadshow will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Ardmore Convetion Center. Admission will be $5 for adults and free for guests 12 and younger. This event is completely indoors.
“We are doing door prizes every 45 minutes and the first 25 through the door will get swag bags full of goodies,” said.
Johnson said in recent years, the show has grown even more as more people take interest in making their own goods.
“Things change, people change with the times and we are seeing way more vendors doing that kind of stuff,” Johnson said.
