Towanda, Kan. — Graveside services for Dorothy Bordoski Caywood, 93, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, in the Towanda Cemetery in Towanda, Kan.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born Jan. 11, 1924, at Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Michael and Jovanka Cvorak Bordoski and passed away at her Ardmore residence on Nov. 5, 2017.

She married Albert C. Caywood on Dec. 9, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio, and then moved to Ardmore in 1952. He preceded her in death May 28, 2012.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jerry Lynn Caywood.

Dorothy received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeastern and her Master’s in Education from the University of Oklahoma. She was a special education teacher and a counselor for Ardmore City Schools. She loved children and teaching, and was awarded the Teacher of the Year for Ardmore City Schools in 1987. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. After she retired she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds at her house. She was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Mikelann Caywood-Baerg and her husband Rich, of Livingston, Mont., her granddaughter Cassidy D. Baerg, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to the Ardmore Humane Society, National Wildlife Foundation or the Nature Conservatory.
