A San Antonio man allegedly abducted an acquaintance in Ardmore before shooting him in Love County Monday morning, according to Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham.
Grisham said Alonzo Gonzales, 33, held Stephon Greene, 26, of Wichita Falls, Texas, at gunpoint at an undisclosed address in Ardmore. He then forced Greene into his vehicle with three dogs already inside.
Gonzales drove his gold sedan with tinted windows down U.S. Highway 32. He would eventually arrive west of Marietta near Indian Meridian Road.
Grisham said that Gonzales parked his vehicle and then shot Greene in the leg. Greene then fled south of the scene and sought help from a nearby residence, where the resident reported the incident to law enforcement officials.
Marietta Police received a description of Gonzales and his vehicle. Officers first spotted Gonzales in front of Marietta High School, pursuing him half a mile south of Marietta down U.S. Highway 77, Grisham said.
Marietta Police apprehended Gonzales, who was then booked into the Love County Jail on charges of burglary, kidnapping and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Grisham said Greene was treated and released for non-life threatening wounds at a nearby hospital that same day.
The three dogs accompanying Gonzales were sent to a local animal shelter.
Gonzales’ bond was set at $250,000. The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation is further investigating the incident.
