Funeral services for Ellis “Duke” O’Dell will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Br. Bruce Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 7  p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.
Ellis O’Dell, Jr. was born July 22, 1931, to Lola Mae (Roberts) and Ellis O’Dell, Sr., in Ardmore, Okla., He passed from this life on Nov. 18, 2017, at the age of 86. Ellis was raised in Ardmore and attended Plainview Schools. He served 2 years with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 27, 1957, Ellis married Laquita Ellis in Oklahoma City and celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was a member of the Quarter Horse Association and employed by the State of Oklahoma as a road inspector.
Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Lola Mae O’Dell; sister Wanda; and brother Richard O’Dell.
He is survived by his wife Laquita of the home; daughter Jonnetta Rigney and her husband Darrel; son Kerry Wayne Jones and his wife Sheran; brother James O’Dell and his wife Clinta; grandchildren Jason Bondurant, Jennifer Baker and her husband Chad, Casey Jones and his wife Kayla, and Brandon Jones and his wife Jamie; and great-grandchildren Morgan Baker, Zachary Baker, Levi Jones, Buston Jones, Rider Jones, and Jasper Jones.
Dan Harris, Jerry Ellis, Rudy Ellis, Danny Thomas, Tim Eubanks, and Lenny Meadows will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Pruett, Finis Price, Ron Hagood, Bud Graves, Chris O’Dell, and Todd Denney.
