Funeral services to celebrate the life of Vera Cohee are Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Jehovah Baptist Church with interment to follow in Cobb Cemetery, Springer. Nieces and Nephews will serve as bearers of the Bier and Flowers.  
Vera, 78, was born in the Woodford Community Oct. 3, 1938, to the parentage of L.B. and Allie D. Harris. She was the 2nd of five children born to this family. When young, Vera united with Jehovah Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School each Sunday, served as Sunday School Secretary, ministered in the Choir, as an usher, and in the Mission. Vera began her education at Jehovah Grade School and graduated from Central High School. She was employed by Ardmore Laundry and Dry Cleaners, when she and R.C. Cohee were married Oct. 4, 1964. This marriage spanned over 50 years until R.C.’s death Aug. 13, 2014. One son, Ronald Michael was born to this union. A drowning incident at Lake Murray’s Spillway claimed his life Sunday, July 31, 1983. During their marriage, Vera and R.C. traveled to numerous places, including Germany, Italy, Hawaii, and Maryland. Following retirement, they returned to Ardmore, and Vera joined First Baptist Church before returning home to Jehovah Baptist. Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, she closed her eyes to begin that resting place where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, no more loneliness or despair. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, a brother, Horace Harris; 2 sisters, Edith Mims, and Frances Roberts; grandfathers, Tom Harris, and Claude Roberts, and her grandmother, Eliza Anderson, Vera is survived by a brother, Curtis Harris, Sr., and a sister, Fern, and her husband Alvin Dorsey; 4 step-children, Wendell (Charlotte)  Cohee, Debra Douglas, Kim Cohee, and Donald Pendleton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
